thinking, preparing, feeling

It is a gray morning, although, I know it will burn off and be sunny soon. This week my mind has been on design. I've been working on my black basalt from Victoria and I've been thinking about design from a different perspective. Transitions..

This year my work has been a lot about transitions and transitions are hard for me. But then when I think about them in the form of design, I get excited. Transitions from one texture to the next, from one component to the other, from color to color.

These photos represent a lot of what I do. I find little pieces that the earth has transitioned into smooth and beautiful stones and I take it and create art you can wear. They are found at the earth's transition of land to water, the gradual shift of form to formless and beyond to the unknown.

Change is the only constant..

back in the blog world

Well, it's been awhile. I've been busy with a class I'm taking this summer. It's a metalsmithing class and I am making rings and earrings. It has been very fun and I've learned a lot. It takes a lot of my time. So, in addition to the wonderful things in the world of metalsmithing, I have been taking a lot of custom gold orders, I just filled a big order for the Edgewater Hotel giftshop. So, if you are in downtown Seattle, they now have my full line of silver jewelry.

Last week two girlfriends and I went to Victoria, my mission was to find more beautiful ocean polished black basalt for my gold jewelry. Mission was accomplished, along with a great time with my friends. We all had a few ideas of what to do and we did them all in a very short two day trip. We took the ferry up to Victoria through the very beautiful San Juan Islands. Once we arrived, we went to an organic cidery, we walked and walked we went to my little beach to find basalt, we ate out overlooking the strait and the Olympic Mountains and finally we went to Butchart gardens

So, I've been away for a little bit. My husband and I were on a meditation retreat which was wonderful. These photos were from the silent nature walk we went on every evening after dinner.

We got back from the retreat and bounced right back into the craziness of life.. I was at three shows this week, and delivered jewelry to ArtsWest in West Seattle. So, I am busy this week making more jewelry, more designs and sending out more jewelry to stores in the area..

The sun is out and it is perfect here.

Wow!!!!

It has been such a busy week here.. The sun came out and all of sudden.....

Karazi Design is in two new stores this month. Starting now, our beautiful gold pieces are being sold at Essenza, a very very cool little boutique in Fremont, (Seattle). Becky will be selling my rings, some pendants and some earrings, all gold. So, if you are in Fremont anytime in the near future check out Essenza and my jewels.

I was approached last Sunday while selling jewelry at the Ballard Farmer's Market, by the gallery director for Arts West, in West Seattle. So, we had a little meeting yesterday and they will be carrying my beaded jewelry starting the beginning of July.

We also finished our lookbook, finally, it is beautiful!!! Here's a picture of the front page. click on it to see it more closely..

Phew!! a perfect day

Finally, a wonderful and perfect day in Seattle. I was outside all day at the Ballard Farmer's Market selling my goods. It was so much fun to be back at a market. A ton of people were there and I saw a bunch of my regular customers. So satisfying to be under the sun, selling and talking about jewelry...

My "spring into summer" trunk show was a big success also.

After several months of being back from India and working on my PR and gettting my jewelry into stores, I've decided to do a few markets this summer. I really miss it, it's fun, and I've had several requests from regular clients. So, this coming Sunday, Father's Day, I will be selling at the Ballard Farmer's Market on Ballard Ave.

I'll keep everyone updated on when and where I'll be this summer. So, please check back here.

I've been trying to be positive about this weather we've been having, but I'm ready for a little warmth and sunshine. It's got to be there somewhere beyond the clouds.
