Recharge and Grow... Spring is here!! It may not feel like it, but the earth has shifted. This is a strange time of the year for me, a lot of transitions, returning from my travels, preparing for the summer season, organizing everything. But, I also like to take this time to reflect and transform those reflections into useful changes in my life. It is an inspiring time to look outside and see the flowers trying to pop, the grass trying to grow and the buds on the trees peeking out.
I just made a custom necklace the other day reminiscent of this..beatufiul earthy green labradorite with a hint of rose quartz and garnet..the cherry blossoms..I'm thinking today I will continue on with that idea and make some with rose quartz and smoky quartz...
Enjoy your day!! and happy spring!!

I've been home a week and here I am talking about more travels!!
Recently, I've been awarded the Ramona Solberg travel grant by the Seattle Metal's Guild. It is a great honor for me and I will be traveling to Cairo, Egypt in May to work and study with the famous goldsmiths of Khan el Khalili. I am sooooo excited to return to Cairo after 10 years and wander the streets, eat the food and study the culture of goldsmithing. It will be interesting to compare and contrast what I've learned, over the years, in India to Egypt. It's going to be a great adventure and I can't wait!!

I've been in Hawaii for the last week..2009 has been the year of lots of travel.. I like it like that.
The other day, my friend took us to a remote area on Oahu to a friends house and we walked along along the coast with them.. jumping off the rocks into the ocean, we swam in a small natural pool, we saw monk seals, a whale, and a very large pod of dolphins... It's been raining the whole time we've been here, but it doesn't really matter when you are having a good time..
Enjoy the photos..

I made it back to Seattle last night after a few days in England visiting my friend. She took me to Bath.. I've attached a couple of photos from our trip there. It was really fun, an afternoon at the spa soaking in the healing mineral spring water, and a day walking around the ancient city. We also spent some time in London, my sister happened to be in London at the same time for business so we all went out to dinner one night. We also went to the Borough Market on Saturday before I got on the plane to fly back to rainy Seattle...But only for a few days.. We are off to Hawaii on Wednesday..
also a photo of some of our new rings!!!
