Think gold!!! (sale)

Exciting news for you all! One week SALE ON GOLD

December 1-8 all gold pendants, earrings and stone rings (not including diamond rings) will be 10% off. So, if you have had your eye on a piece, now is the time. All the gold can be seen here on my flickr site (new pieces have been added) and if you would like to purchase one, please email me: samia@karazidesign.com and mention this sale. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about this work.

As many of you know, I spend my winters in India working and studying traditional Indian goldsmithing. All of the pieces on sale have been made (with love), by hand in the traditional Indian way, over a fire with a blowpipe torch. My teachers and I make them together. Each piece is trully unique and this is the first and may be the last sale I will ever have on these pieces.

Enjoy!!

It is my birthday today and my husband threw a fabulous party for me last night. Kim Virant (an awesome Seattle musician) sang and we made pizza and it was great!! The sale is sort of in celebration of my birthday, but I couldn't get it all organized this week. So, I'm hoping to get it together for next week..

I'm feeling a little bit scattered this week, like I am forgetting something, even though, I've been locked up in my studio working working working and organizing for the holidays. I think it's probably because our house is a bit of a construction zone, we just had our floors refinished and everything from our living room and dining room is upstairs.

Anyway, with that said, I have sore hands from making so much jewelry and a sore mind from thinking about how to share all this work with all of you.

Egypt Collection

here are a few photos from the limited edition Egypt Collection. These are bracelets and necklaces made with brass and silver and have old Turkish coins attached. The Turkish coins are actually impressions of coins and are between 80-100 years old. They were used on the headresses of Bedouin women in the middle east. I bought the coins while wandering the winding old streets of Cairo last May.

soon I will post these on Etsy, but if you are interested in one please email me for details.

life...a big adventure! Won't you join me?

I've been busy this week setting up shows for the holidays... I will post them once they are finalized, but it looks like I will have 3 or 4 public shows this season.

Speaking of which, you are always welcome to shop online in my etsy store. I added 2 new pieces of yellow turquoise just recently. Check them out, if you have not seen them yet.

Mostly these days, my mind has been focusing on India. We are planning and getting ready for our tour in February. I can't wait! It's going to be so much fun. The tour is limited to 8 women and there is still some room, so if you are interested in the trip of a lifetime, consider joining Kathy and I on our gem & jewelry lovers tour to India. You can email me for more details or just look at my previous blog entry

If you are thinking about custom ordering a piece (or two) of gold jewelry made by Kumar, Balan and myself, please let me know. I am taking orders until mid-December.
